About a year ago I decided I hated that I sucked at running. I didn't want running to defeat me. So I started training for a 5k, and then later a 10k, and then I started slacking so I'm back at the 5k level... but that's ok. I'm still doing it. And one of the reasons that I love it now is because I've got a pretty sweet Kpop Running Playlist. When I'm less motivated to go, I just think of the lovely music I get to listen to, and that helps motivate me.
So does the lovely fall weather that we have right now, and the early summer mornings, and the start of spring... I am a sissy, though, and I don't run outside after Christmas.... It just gets too cold.

K-Con LA 2017 Final Day: Wrapping Up the Trip
Is it ridiculous that most of our adventures of our last day took place outside of K-Con? We were trying to find someplace, and our information was wrong. That day was the huge exception, and even though we went to 3 different places, we ended up not finding what we were looking for. But we did get a sort of tour of different parts of LA because of that. Saw some different views and some residential areas. It was nice, I guess. But it meant that we got less K-Con time.
But a good thing happened after the wild goose chase we went on. When we got to our sketchy under the parking lot parking, some girls were just leaving. Seeing our wrist bands, they offered us their parking they had bought, because they were leaving already. So we got free parking! #blessings #kconersunite

K-Con Concert Day: Trip Day Three
The day that we're all waiting for, Saturday, the day that we'd go to all our artist engagements and eventually the concert. We would have loved to have gone to both concert days, but that was a lot of money for groups that we had less investment in. We're not made of money.
We like those groups, but we LOVE Vixx and Super Junior. Let's be honest, I also love Girl's Day. So it worked out that they were all going to be a part of the Saturday Concert. We had to prepare well, because this day was going to be an all day thing.

Day Two: First Official Day of K-Con LA 2017
So starts day two of our K-Con adventure, this one is focused on exploring, since we had some flexibility. It started later, so we got there later, and miraculously missed all the traffic. Our hotel was farther from the convention center, but still situated so that we would miss the bad traffic if we left at the right time.
No one died while I drove in LA. In fact, I was once again pleasantly surprised at how decently everyone was driving, not that I loved the traffic, it was just more predictable than freeway traffic where I'm from. People know how to merge a bit better, haha.

263. Wednesday at 3:30 수요일 오후 3시 30분 (2017) Korean
Hong Bin, Jin Ki Joo, Ahn Bo Hyun, Cha Jung Won
Drama Rating: 5/10 Neck Score: A+
Hong Bin! I've missed you so! You're so delightfully cute and bad at acting. Delightfully so. He just makes me giggle whenever he's on screen. Especially if he is supposed to be serious or whatever. This show was pretty awful and ridiculous. But we still 100% binge watched it and loved it because of our Beanie. His character was supposed to be sassy, which was hilarious, because he couldn't really be sassy to that girl. He's too much of a muffin, really. It was so awkward the way the show was written, but it was also to unbearably cute that we just went along with it. All the adorable dates right at 3:30. Man, I wish I had a Beanie to take me out every Wednesday at 3:30, and a job that would let me just take off every week for like an hour, NBD. Man, that thunderstorm holding hands over the puppy scene though, hahaha. It just made us laugh out loud the whole way through. It was very enjoyable, but not because it was good, just because it was cute and fluffy and we all love our Hong Bin. I'm sure the rest of Vixx didn't let him live this down, except they were also probably jealous that he got to kiss that noona. I do have to say that the second leads were pretty lame. We called them Discount Zhoumi and Discount Kim So Eun. They were both pretty lame and manipulative. I did like the second second female lead, who was dating the second male lead. She was actually pretty cool for a change. Anyway, if you want a short fluffy thing, this is it. If you want actual good acting/writing/drama this is definitely not it. But for 10 short episodes, you might as well. Its less than the length of a movie, and barely any commitment at all.

K-Drama Cameos FTW!
I recently started watching Squad 38, and to my delight, Kim Sung Oh made a cameo appearance in episode 2. This got me thinking of how much I love cameos. This stems all the way back to when I was a kid and watching the Muppet Movie and the Great Muppet Caper, etc, which are full of wonderful cameos. This probably makes me appreciate all the lovely cameos in K-dramas as well.
So I made a list of all the cameos that I especially loved, and some that even made me watch the drama just so I could see the cameo, which is pretty much the most ridiculous thing ever.

More of MarlubsGD's K-Dreamland Adventures
I know I said I was going to have Lizabreff's dreamland adventure next, but she honestly doesn't have them as often, and certainly doesn't write them down as much, so instead I will share a bunch of dreams I had over the last little bit.
There is less interaction because of how busy and how ridiculously different our schedules are these days. Sigh. It makes drama watching together extremely difficult. Sad day. Well, at least I can dream.

Let's Not Fall For Magic: Kpop Groups Actually Treated As Separate People!?!
I've been thinking a lot about the new trends in Kpop music videos. Recently there have been a lot of things that I have liked. There have been a lot of really good songs and also a lot of music videos that have been different enough to make me do the nod of approval. One of the trends that I noticed was the one where our boys were actually treated like separate people.
You know how most groups have to go through that thing at one point in time where they hire one actress and the entire group interacts with her as if they are the same person or something. It's weird, but they pretty much all do it.

172. Sassy, Go Go 발칙하게 고고 (2015) Korean
Jung Eun Ji, Lee Won Keun, Cha Hak Yeon, Ji Soo, Cha Hak Yeon (N), Kim Ji Suk
Drama Rating: 6/10 Neck Score: A++
I don't normally like high school dramas. I think cheer leading is stupid. I liked this drama. Why? Because it wasn't really about cheer leading and it wasn't the typical angsty high school drama. It was about being friends, working together, and for realsies high school issues. Yes, it was still ridiculous and over the top a lot, but it managed to stay cute and fun thr whole way through. This was probably because the bulk of the cast was dynamite. I mean, Sissy Cute Neck (Lee Won Keun) was adorable. We've appreciated him since his Phantom days, and he was literally the only good thing about Hyde Jekyll Me, so it was good to see him finally rocking a lead. Eun Ji was just great. A lead girl we could actually get behind, even when she was being way too nice. Ji Soo, oh my freak. He can even make bad writing and cheese crap good. That boy is amazing. I loved the bromance between Ji Soo and Sissy Cute Neck. Best bromance ever, which lead to the best resolution of a love triangle ever. I also really loved the childhood besties that were Eun Ji and N. Even though N is not amazing yet, he wasn't the worst idol newly turned actor ever, and it worked for his character. I heart Kim Ji Suk. Can I just marry him now? The teachers in high school dramas really get shafted a lot, but he really made his role awesome, but then I am also highly biased. The worst part of this show was the ridiculous ways they neatly wrapped everything up in the end. I like that they tied up all the loose ends and hinted at all the ships that we had (like the teachers), but it was admittedly cheesy. So it was a good drama, but not like amazing. I think the Ji Soo shippers might have had a harder time with it than I did. I consistently liked it (except when they were smacking on my Kim Ji Suk, then I was angry).

VIXX's Leo Wins a High Spot on the Top 10 Sexy Necks List
VIXX is making a comeback. I'm getting excited. I've actually been meaning to add Leo to my Top 10 Sexy Necks list since Beautiful Liar, but I've been busy. But really, my obsession with him isn't going to stop anytime soon, so I had better just put him where he belongs on that list and have done with it. Because that man is beautiful, and his neck is glorious.
That's not the only thing that's glorious. Pretty much everything about him is awesome. He's like 100% swoon worthy. I could just fill this post with pictures of him, and be done. Actually, that's probably what this is going to be. I mean, I already took up half my post about sultry songs just on Beautiful Liar, so.... Yeah.

Kpop for the Frustrated
Frustration happens to us all off and on. Right now I am frustrated with life, meaning work and other businessy obligations that make me fall into a busy rut where I feel like a robot with no control.
When times like these come, I have to listen to a certain kind of music to get those pent up emotions out. And yes, that means another Kpop playlist.

Kpop for the Day Picker Upper
In the mood when you want to feel happy, laugh, energized, peppier? I've got a playlist that I keep for these occasions. Because my last Kpop post was sad and super personal, I figured the next one should be happy. So I decided to make a list of the Kpop songs I listen to so I can get pumped up and feel happy.
I'll be honest, half of these are because of how ridiculous they are, or how fun the MV is (which usually means the song is fun too) and not necessarily for the song alone. Sometimes the song is even sad, but because of how fun the beat/dance/MV is it makes me happy. So here are some of the songs I listen to when I am super happy/silly or just want to feel happier, because these songs always put me in a better mood.

Bigflo: This Noona is Crushing Hard
So, I was watching Boarding House 24, looking for something light and funny, and I was really liking this Im Hyun Tae kid (or as I call in in the show, North Korea), so I naturally looked him up. High Top, the rapper of a new group called Bigflo... Sounds right up my alley...
Omo. Now I'm totally in love.

Drama Picking Bias Syndrome
I've been called out on this before, and I probably won't stop doing it ever. As much as I love Kpop, and I do at that, I have problems finding new bands or getting into their music, until I have a bias for that band. I don't pick a bias until I have a reason to like them, and that reason usually comes from seeing them in a drama first. I think it's possibly because I tend to just appreciate them as a collective until I know one of them enough to love him individually.
A prime example of this is my history of liking Super Junior.
