About a year ago I decided I hated that I sucked at running. I didn't want running to defeat me. So I started training for a 5k, and then later a 10k, and then I started slacking so I'm back at the 5k level... but that's ok. I'm still doing it. And one of the reasons that I love it now is because I've got a pretty sweet Kpop Running Playlist. When I'm less motivated to go, I just think of the lovely music I get to listen to, and that helps motivate me.
So does the lovely fall weather that we have right now, and the early summer mornings, and the start of spring... I am a sissy, though, and I don't run outside after Christmas.... It just gets too cold.

254. Drinking Solo 혼술남녀 (2016) Korean
Ha Seok Jin, Park Ha Sun, Hwang Woo Seul Hye, Min Jin Woong, Kim Won Hae, Gong Myung, Key, Jung Chae Yeon, Kim Dong Young
Drama Rating: 7/10 Neck Score: A
I started this for Key, straight up. I had heard good things. I don't remember why I didn't watch it when it came out. I remember Lizabreff was really excited for it, but we just never got around to watching it. Which is weird. But then I started watching it without her, which is also weird. But that's what happened. I was not disappointed. Ki Bum was the best part of the whole show. Di ro ri! I'm pretty sure he's my spirit animal. I mean, I guess Ha Seok Jin was a bonus... JK, I loved everyone in this whole show. There was no one that I didn't like, and that was the beauty of it. It was about people. Flawed people who are dealing with a lot of crap. We have the exam school teachers, who all have their own struggles, and the students, who are living under the cloud of the civil service exams and having to study all day every day. So everyday someone is going to be drinking solo, for some reason, good or bad. Or Ha Seok Jin will just drink solo every day because he's high quality trash and it's his time of "healing." The show is basically advocating alcohol, but trying to also promote healthy drinking habits. Really, I was all about those "high quality" snacks during all those drinking scenes. They made me so hungry and jealous. I loved how the characters all developed well and how I cared about everyone's story. I was shipping everyone, even if I knew they were bound to be alone, because they were the second male lead. Everyone had their times of being sad, but it usually wasn't stupid, it was realistic. Only sometimes it was stupid. Then everyone ended fairly happy, which is also good. It was a good ending, although the last episode was so long that I am dead tired now because I stayed up too late to finish it. It was a little slow paced, but there were a lot of loose ends to tie in the last episode. I felt like they gave all the other characters besides the main couple more time to resolve, but since I loved them all that only seemed slightly weird. They were trying to leave it open, I know, but it was a bit too open maybe? I don't know. It was still good, just too long for after midnight. This noona is getting too old for that.

My Spring Break with SHINee World V in Dallas
I had a wonderful vacation a week or so ago, from which I am still recovering (work is hard!). It was spring break, so I got Friday off work, and that just coincided perfectly with me being able to go to SHINee World V in Dallas (without having to take any work off!) I was super stoked because 1. I love SHINee, and 2. it was going to be Curdy's first Kpop concert ever.
You all might remember Curdy being previously being referred to as my non-kdrama/kpop loving roommie/friend, but that has since changed. She has converted to the right side/dark side/good side, and has taken the plunge into a much better world. She has since become obsessed with it, like the rest of us had years ago. Her current favorites are Super Junior and obsessing over Hyungsik. We've taught her well.
So when I figured out that my paid vacation was the same day as the SHINee concert, I went to Lizabreff and Curdy and said: "Let's do this!" So we did.

More of MarlubsGD's K-Dreamland Adventures
I know I said I was going to have Lizabreff's dreamland adventure next, but she honestly doesn't have them as often, and certainly doesn't write them down as much, so instead I will share a bunch of dreams I had over the last little bit.
There is less interaction because of how busy and how ridiculously different our schedules are these days. Sigh. It makes drama watching together extremely difficult. Sad day. Well, at least I can dream.

What the Heck Did I Just Watch? Kpop MVs of 2015 That Left Us Feeling Weirded Out
It's the end of 2015, and there were a lot of what the heck Kpop MVs this year. The kind that makes you wonder as you watch them "What the heck am I watching" and at the end you are still left with that blank expression of WTF.
What in the freak are they? Well, here are some of 2015's that fit that bill.

176. Because It's the First Time 처음이라서 (2015) Korean
Minho, Park So Dam, Kim Min Jae, Jeong Eugene
Drama Rating: 5/10 Neck Score: A
I started this drama because the Bromance, you know Paksa and Fish Bangs (Jung Kyung Ho and Yoon Hyun Min). That was probably a stupid reason, since they were only a cameo. However the behind the scenes clip I saw done me in and I watched, because by the time the cameo happened I was invested in the characters already. I think it was too long. For a web drama it was a bit draggy in how stupid Minho's character was. That was probably the worst part, now I have a desire to punch Minho in the face that I never had before. I would just make fun of his dorky puppy looks, but now when I see his face I realize that he just wants a punch. His face is just asking for it. Just stop looking like a dorky puppy trying to act cool! (punch!) But now that I've finally finished it, that has lessened (probably because Ji Ahn did punch him in the face). Ah, Ji Ahn. He's so cute! Little smiley baby G-Dragon with a sexy man voice! Aw. I was super angry because I thought they were going to pull the first love crap. They did, and it was still lame, but it wasn't nearly as lame as I thought it would be. I thought it was going to go all I Need Romance on me, especially since it's written by the same lady, but it didn't, so it wasn't too bad. But I did have to wait and read the recaps to see if I really wanted to finish it because FILWM Syndrome or something. It was cute, but super messy. A little annoying because it was so messy. And why'd he have to go and make my classy Jeong Eugene cry? Bad, Minho! Go get punched in the face!

Kpop for That Sultry Sound... yeah, the sound ;)
There is a difference between sultry and just sexy... at least in my book. Sultry has that special sound that can only be described as rawr. Overly sexy can sometimes be too much, because sometimes you are just in the mood for a sultry sounding song. Something that is perfectly exemplified through dance moves like these:
Sway those hips, boys. Rawr. Yep, that's where the sultry sound is at. So here are my favorite sultry songs, for when I want to just listen to something that says "rawr!"

When Following Peeps on Instagram Makes You Like Them Less
Following my biases and other Korean and Taiwanese stars on Instagram and Twitter is generally a delight. Countless hours have been wasted browsing their goofy, cute, and fun posts. But then there is always the problem of a little TMI. You get less impressed with them because of what they post. This has happened to me one too many times to not write about.
It just so happens that the monotony or the stupidity of their posts just annoy us enough to where we end up thinking less of them to even not being able to take them seriously any more.

Some Kpop MVs that I Totally Know the Dance For
Sometimes you just watch a MV so many times that you can not only sing along with it, but dance along with it as well. There are some that I literally have to jump up and dance if I can. I guarantee I look nothing like them while doing their moves, but I totally have those moves down.
