313. What's Wrong with Secretary Kim? 김비서가 왜 그럴까 (2018) Korean

Park Seo Joon, Park Min Young, Lee Tae Hwan, Kim Byung Ok, Kim Hye Ok, Kang Ki Young

Drama Rating: 8/10     Neck Score: A+++

The biggest thing wrong with this show is that even when Park Seo Joon is playing a narcissistic chaebol, he's still a muffin. A confirmed muffin. As soon as he starts the eye smile, all narcissism is over, he's just a muffin. But he did a good job of it inspite of that. This was a really fun show. I loved the dynamic between Park Min Young and Park Seo Joon. She was amazing, and her clothes were super amazing too. They inspired Lizabreff to buy a bunch of cute blouses, which sadly turned out to be cheap pieces of crap that were not what was expected. Haha, everyone's gotta have a story like that, right?

212. Thumping Spike 두근두근 스파이크 (2016) Korean

Hwang Seung Eon, Song Jae Rim, Lee Tae Hwan

Drama Rating: 4/10     Neck Score: A++

I shouldn't be allowed to watch sports dramas, haha.  I have to admit I watched this one purely to the eye candy.  It was way too long for that reason.  I mean, Rim and Puppy were super hot, as well as all the other volleyball players, but the plot was so drawn out.  I don't care about sports enough and to me all sports shows are exactly alike.  We have the underdog team who are last place.  We have the star athlete who is down on her luck because of an injury.  We have the romance between the athlete and the star player of the team which starts out as a love/hate relationship.  We have administration who wants to abolish the team.  Sound familiar?  It's the plot of every single sports show ever.  I did like how she had to be the coach because she beat up Puppy in the men's room.  I also liked how even though he was a high schooler, Rim was not a minor.  Although making him 20 was a stretch.  He was way too sexy and savvy to be 20.  Like knowing how to kiss, etc.  He also acted very oppa around her, like he couldn't turn off the fact that he's older than her in real life.  The representative of the company was super gross and smarmy and they couldn't make up their minds whether he and his secretary were completely bad or not.  But he was shudder nasty every time he was on the screen.  We watched it all in one sitting, which was a mistake because I increasingly would stop caring with each episode.  Also, it increasingly got cheesier every episode, up until that amazing fly through the air spike that brought them to victory, because that is how every sports drama ends too.  At least the actors did a good job.  Really the only thing that got us through this show was how cute all the boys were and the fact that we were live tweeting it and it was hilarious.

196. Come Back, Mister 돌아와요 아저씨 (2016) Korean

Jung Ji Hoon (Rain), Kim In Kwon, Oh Yeon Seo, Kim Soo Ro, Lee Min Jung, Lee Ha Nui, Choi Won Young, Yoon Park, Lee Tae Hwan, Kwak Deon Yeon

Drama Rating: 7/10     Neck Score: B

I didn't exactly expect this one to be quite this serious.  I mean, they die they come back as Rain and a woman.  That part has to be hilarious.  But then again, they are dead, so what happy ending would there be?  Can I just day that Oh Yeon Seo is amazing?  I already loved her, but she played Han Gi Tak, or Kim Soo Ro, so well, especially at first.  A gangster dude in a tiny girl's body?  Amazing.  The walk, the talk, she had it all down.  It wasn't just a dude, it was Soo Ro.  Rain also did a great job of capturing the mannerisms of Kim In Kwon.  The second male leads, Choi Won Young and Yoon Park, were probably the most confusing part for me.  They were either completely crazy (with jealousy) or a complete slimeball one moment, and then strangely sympathetic at the next.  I hated Slimeball (Yoon Park) more because he should have been a nicer person as the friend of Kim Young Soo (Kim In Kwon), while Cha Jae Gook was just always a crazy nom.  But maybe I am prejudice because I frankly just love Choi Won Young... like a lot.  He plays creepy and crazy so well... well, just everything so well.  Also, huge shout out to Lee Ha Nui.  She's my woman crush for forever.  She did so well!

So, the ending made me cry.  I didn't cry during the end of Descendants at all, but this one had me almost balling.  I didn't love everything about the ending, but it was well written at least.  It was not cheesy, it was bittersweet and good.  There were a lot of tropes or plot twists in the show that I thought I was going to hate that were written well enough that I was pleasantly surprised.  I ended up liking most every episode.  The only thing I didn't like was their attempt to redeem Slimeball.  I say no to that.  Although I saw it coming for him and Crazy Ex.  Scarface is probably the worst person, so I'll leave it at that.  Also Puppy Namja (Lee Tae Hwan) and Kang Ki Young were together again.  I love those two and their bromance.  Best thing that came out of King of High School, so yay.

More of MarlubsGD's K-Dreamland Adventures

I know I said I was going to have Lizabreff's dreamland adventure next, but she honestly doesn't have them as often, and certainly doesn't write them down as much, so instead I will share a bunch of dreams I had over the last little bit.

There is less interaction because of how busy and how ridiculously different our schedules are these days.  Sigh.  It makes drama watching together extremely difficult.  Sad day.  Well, at least I can dream.

Sexiness Overload: Pride and Prejudice and Choi Jin Hyuk's Hotness

What the... whew! I can't handle this show already!  Too many sexy men in one office!  Rawr!  It is the perfect replacement for Ghost, which we've been going through withdrawals for, because it's snarky, intense, and full of crime mystery.  Perfect!

It's not really based on Pride and Prejudice, since this is a law show, but it does have the same very basic premise when it comes to character types.  He's super proud and she's prejudiced against him and a lot of other things too.  She seriously has a skill for jumping to conclusions, which makes for a lot of misunderstandings and strangely increases the sexual tension.

125. Pride and Prejudice 오만과 편견 (2014) Korean

Jin Hyuk, Baek Jin Hee, Choi Min Soo, Lee Tae Hwan

Drama Rating: 7/10     Neck Score: A+

I loved this show, but I have to admit that I didn't understand what was going on half of the time, and was extremely frustrated the other half of the time.  Especially when Curly Mullet and Ahjussi would talk, I really just didn't get what they were talking about with their metaphors and plots within plots.  Also, what the heck ending.  It was all like creepy atrsy weirdness and then they threw in a 30 second piece of fluff with a 3 year jump to make sure we know that it is also a happy ending... what?  Seriously.  The final episode was so good until all the what suddenly happened.  It was frustrating and realistic and then it was suddenly magically over... lame.  But as a whole I still liked this show a lot, and not just because of Choi Jin Hyuk and Lee Tae Hwan (although those are really good reason right there), I liked the intricate plot, all the characters, the level of intensity, and stuff.  I especially liked the Dragon (Prosecutor Lee) couple.  So funny and cute!
