87. Goong aka Princess Hours 궁 (2006) Korean

Yoon Eun Hye, Joo Ji Hyun, Kim Jung Hoon, Song Ji Hyo

Drama Rating: 4.5/10     Neck Score: C

This is a C for bad neck wear.  I'm talking to you Cat in the Hat bow ties, lame collars, turtlenecks, and gay necklaces.  Also amazingly bad hair.  That should put it to C---.  Also, I hate Yul, that bitca.  Ok, as much as this show sucks, I had to watch it.  It was like crack too.  I think the parts that make it weirdly horrible is the fact that this is literally a modern sageuk, with the whole princess and palace crap.  So she's an ordinary girl but somehow she is chosen to marry the crown prince.  This leads to problems as he is still caught up on the other girl Hyo Rin (Ji Hyo) who turned him down, but now regrets her choice.  Then there is Yul, who is the bitca of the piece.  Seriously, he is the bitca while Hyo Rin is more like the other dude.  She's the man and he is the conniving bitca.  The crap that goes on in the palace is something that would only fly in Joseon times, seriously.  The bitca Yul and her his bitca mom are completely cray cray.  Everyone you started out liking at the beginning turns out to be lame and the people you didn't like at first turn out to be the only cool people.  Seriously.  When you first meet the prince you think he's a bratty jerk, but he turns out to be the only person you love, while Yul, who you think is a nice guy is really a bitca.  You start out liking the king and thinking the queen is too harsh and then you're like "the king is a stupid jerk and the queen is the only smart person here!"  Also it gets really draggy because it's 24 when it should only be 20 episodes (another thing that makes it like a sageuk).  The ending is also like wut?  But still, once you start watching you have to finish it, even if you are screaming about how much you hate Yul the whole second half.  Also those little teddy bear ending scenes.  At first I thought they were weird, but then they were some of the only things I loved.  This show (head shake).

63. Marry Him If You Dare 미래의 선택 (2013) Korean

Yoon Eun Hye, Lee Dong Gun, Jung Yong Hwa, Han Chae Ah, Choi Myoung Gil

Drama Rating: 2/10     Neck Score: A

Yong Hwa further ruined for me.  I really hated this one, which is sad because I really loved it at first.  It was a really interesting premise of a lady who goes back in time to change her life because of all the crap that happened.  She wanted to stop herself from marrying the man she married.  The interesting part was she was still so obviously in love with that man, even as an old woman, that you wondered why she wanted to change that fact.  Also, Lee Dong Gun, you are a handsome man.  I had tried to watch him in a drama before, but it was so old and stupid that I never got far.  I tried again because of this show and still didn't get far.  I hated the lead girl.  Anyways, Lee Dong Gun is the husband that she wants to keep herself from marrying, but both her present and future selfs are still falling in love with him despite everything.  I also love that he's a news anchor but has a super foul mouth.  Also, fell in love with him that time he put on the Darth Vader costume.  Yep.  Loved him.  Anyways, I really hated Yong Hwa's character in this one too, but if he just stayed the other guy that would have been fine, but all the sudden the writers went completely crazy and changed the plot completely making it into not a romance but a self-discovery of the main girl, leaving the ending completely open, weird and stupid.  I don't know if the Yong Hwa fans protested or something, but whatever it was shouldn't have happened.  A potentially interesting show was completely ruined by suddenly completely horrible writing.  I don't normally outright hate a show by the ending, not even Boys Over Flowers, but I seriously hated this one.  Boo!!!!!!!  Learn to write peeps!

29. My Fair Lady 아가씨를 부탁해 (2009) Korean

Yoon Eun Hye, Yoon Sang Hyun, Jung Il Woo, Moon Chae Won

Drama Rating: 5/10      Neck Score: B+

Probably the role that I liked Yoon Eun Hye best in, because she wasn't a "Spazcakes."  But I watched this one for Oska (Yoon Sang Hyun) who will forever be Oska to me.  This is also an interesting mix up from the traditional format as it's the girl who is the rich jerky chaebol and the dude who is poor.  That gives a totally different set of problems since it is a way bigger deal when it comes to a relationship.  Oska is Eun Hye's personal butler, since he is in deep debt and needs a job to keep the loan sharks off his tail.  He used to be a gigolo too, as he needed to pay his mother's hospital bills.  So he manages to get the butler job and keep it for way longer than anyone else, since Eun Hye's character is a jerk.  Moon Chae Won is the little sister type character (not related) who has a crush on her oppa.  I love her, she's one of my favorite actresses.  The part that worked for me least in this show what why Jung Il Woo's character ever liked Eun Hye's character.  I guess it was just a case of liking her against his better judgement, because he's a rich boy who cast off all to be a righteous lawyer and she represents everything he hates.  Oh well.  It is refreshingly different, especially with the role reversals, and pretty funny.  Oska's neck isn't as good in this one as in Secret Garden, but still good.  Also there are a bunch of random other butlers in their lovely butler suits to add to the nice neck count.

5. Coffee Prince 커피프린스 1호점 (2007) Korean

Yoon Eun Hye, Gong Yoo, Lee Sun Kyun, Chae Jung An

Drama Rating: 6/10     Neck Score: B+

Another, and probably the most classic of all girls dressed as guys drama.  The creepy part is Yoon Eun Hye looks so much like a boy.  Seriously.  She just... yeah.  The think that makes this drama work is the chemistry.  Gong Yoo is a hot, hot man (with a hot, hot neck) and he's got a good "I want you" eye expression.  So we've also got some major gay things, because she seriously looks like a guy.  The other hot neck of this drama is that Japanese boy (Kim Jae Wook), but I don't think there is bad looking guy in the cast.  Even the one they call Gorilla (Lee Eon) is super hot.  Some boring story lines, and weird draggy plot devices, but the chemistry of the main couple probably makes up for a lot of that.
