This "season" left me liking it about as much as the first season did. I liked it while I was watching it, but got annoyed at all the lose ends it left. Because it keeps assuming that it's going to get another season, while I keep assuming that it won't. Also it annoys me how it spends so much time on other things instead of focusing on the main plot like it should. What does it think it is, an American TV show? But other than the ending and the lack of real progression, it was it's good old charming self. I love that we got to delve deeper into relationships and develop new ones. I missed some of the old characters and liked some of the new ones. It was one of the more decent second seasons.
That being said, I struggled watching it. I don't know if it was the timing, but it was never a priority. Maybe because it was more of the same old same old. The cases had urgency, because people were dying, but the actual show had none. I forced myself to finish because I liked the characters, not because it was compelling to me. It was a multitasking show, which is not very great, but that's how I made it through. It also helped that the actual compelling shows were all caught up so I had to wait for new episodes, haha.
Maybe it was because there was no real progression. Only the new characters got to develop. Our power detective couple didn't have to progress at all because I guess they did all that last season? It was just a lot of hitting the same old jokes and skirting around the issue of do they like each other. They did get rid of some old baggage, as in some of their past was resolved, but not nearly enough of it. They tried their hardest to just open more doors, hoping to get that season three, when they finally get closer to catching Secretary Kim... who I didn't pay enough attention to this season, so I can't remember if they knew that they existed last season. I don't remember. But I totally called who it was.
They spent so much time not focusing on what they should of, that every time they had some reminder moments about who we needed to be suspicious of, I just laughed or even rolled my eyes. I was sick of that girl (we all know who she is already) being creepy and weird for no reason. We're done with Inspector Woo going off on his own like he's the only one who can solve mysteries. And we know that his hyung is not a good person. Of course he isn't. He's played by Kim Tae Woo. So stop hinting and just focus on the actual mystery! No? It's episode 16 and you are big revealing now? Ok. Maybe see you in season 3. I like the characters enough to come back one more time.... maybe. If you do come back.
