Park Se Wan, Kwak Dong Yeon, Youn Yuh Jung, Oh Ji Ho, Ye Ji Won, Park Ah In, Song Won Seok, Joo Hyun, Jung Suk Yong, Ko Su Hee
Drama Rating: 6/10 Neck Score: A+
This wasn't my favorite weekend, family, freaking long drama, but I like it okay. I was invested in all the characters enough to get excited each week for it, but it was also just not the best. It was about a bunch of people living at an inn boarding house type deal, and they are all on their last chance at life, grasping for straws. They all also have a common enemy in the family of Guseong Hotel group, who were all conveniently the people who somehow screwed them all over so that they are on their last chance. There was so much fate between this found family that it was ridiculous. But the dynamic of the found family was good, and the chemistry between the main couple was such that I kept coming back for more, even though the plot wasn't always my favorite. Basically it's the rich people kicking the poor people down until they finally unite enough to get some revenge and redemption, etc.

319. Still 17 서른이지만 열일곱입니다 (2018) Korean
Shin Hye Sun,Yang Se Jong, Ahn Hyo Seop, Ye Ji Won
Drama Rating: 8/10 Neck Score: A+
We watched this a little slower pace, but that's just what happens when you are watching with a group and some of them have kids that we have to wait until they are in bed. This my sister and my first virtual KD night, meaning that we watched it together while on a google hangout. We're really good at going "one, two, three, click" and syncing up our videos. It was a worthy endeavor. Now we just need to finish Wok of Love that way.
Anyway, this show was well worth the effort. It was so cute! It left me with all the fluffy happy feelings! It was a very healing drama. It was all about the healing and getting rid of the "what ifs" and self blaming. I loved it. I also loved how everyone was a puppy or muffin. Our nicknames for everyone were puppy related. Happy Puppy/Puppy Chan, Wounded Puppy, Real Puppy, Dr. Muffin... wait that's a muffin not a puppy. But same difference. I love that it was about the healing that comes from being with family, and creating families to heal each other. It was really beautiful.

Women Who Make Me Watch Dramas Against My Will: Ahjumma Edition
So, it was recently international women's day, and I was busy all day. Oh well. But I thought that I could at least celebrate it late with the next installment of Women Who Make Me Watch Dramas Against My Will, and no better edition than the one dedicated to the ahjumma.
Whether they play the moms (evil or good), the aunties, the neighborhood ahjumma, or the bad-a mentors, these ahjumma are like the backbone of the drama world. A show is always going to be better with a well placed ahjumma. I realized going into this that it is an infinite list, because there are so many wonderful ahjumma in the world. So I had to try really hard to narrow it down and put my personal top favorites. The cream of the crop in my opinion.

206. Another Oh Hae Young 또! 오해영 (2016) Korean
Eric Mun, Seo Hyun Ji, Jeon Hye Bin, Ye Ji Won, Kim Ji Suk
Drama Rating: 8/10 Neck Score: B-
I didn't expect to enjoy this so completely. I've always called Eric "Trunk Neck" and refused to give him a chance. And then when it was going to be Trunk Neck vs Trunk Neck... I only started this because Seo Hyun Ji and Kim Ji Suk. Then Eric was so adorable that I ended up falling for him anyway. His neck is only thick anyway. But really, Seo Hyun Ji is amazing. She was so human and relatable. I loved her so much and all of her craziness. Her whole family really, they were all so perfect, from the way they fought, to the way they helped each other and cried with each other. I naturally loved Kim Ji Suk as Jun Sang and his awkwardly perfect relationship with both Do Kyung (Eric) and Noona (Ye Ji Won) who is literally my hero. "Rooftop party!" The ducklings = perfect. I liked how the plot was all about fate and the choices people make. Do Kyung sees flashes of the future, which leads him to becoming involved with Oh Hae Young in the first place. I really liked how everything played out. The pace of the show was consistent, and it never got yucky and mopey, which is saying something right there. Yes there were times when I got mad at characters, but only in the natural way, and not ever overly stupidly. Even when they threw that twist in at the end I wasn't worried, because this show had such a good track record. It was definitely a show that made me look forward to the start of the week.

202. Page Turner 페이지 터너 (2016) Korean
Kim So Hyun, Ji Soo, Shin Jae Ha, Ye Ji Won, Hwang Young Hee
Drama Rating: 9/10 Neck Score: A+
I just wanted this to be longer! Seriously so good! I was crying one minute and grinning from ear to ear the next. I could easily have watched 16 episodes of this, because there was plenty to deal with. Also, Ji Soo. He was just about the most adorable thing I've ever seen! He was the nicest, most optimistic, and funniest male lead ever. This show was so good that it got both Lizabreff and Curdy to sit down and watch the last episode with me when they hadn't seen any of the other two episodes. That's right, it's only three episodes long. Way too short for all of Ji Soo's cuteness. All the characters are good. Kim So Hyun was awesome. Her and Ji Soo had great chemistry, even when she couldn't "see" his face. Also, lots of beautiful piano music. Really good.
