278. Temperature of Love 사랑의 온도 (2017) Korean

Seo Hyun Jin, Yang Se Jong, Jo Bo Ah, Kim Jae Wook

Drama Rating: 6/10     Neck Score: A+

This one took me a long time to finish.  We started out watching it together, but soon it was put on the back burner because there were many things we would rather watch.  It got so bad that finally I asked them if I could just finish it without them.  They were totally fine with it.  So I did.  Even then, I struggled though it, because it was too, I don't know how to say it, predictable?  We all knew how it was going to end, and it wasn't going to be happy for everyone.  They all knew how it was going to end, but they still had to fight over the girl.  Yeah, maybe they all got stronger for it, but I really didn't like seeing them fight all the time.  I was really invested in the bromance, so for Kim Jae Wook to try and shake the couple, when he was the only one who was going to be hurt was just not fun for me to watch, no matter how beautiful he is.  I was also in it for the other couples as well, although I have to say I shipped the sou chef with the sommelier.  Team sommelier forever!!!!  But my favorite couple was the assistant director and writer.  I wanted there to be way more of them.

However, all that aside, I did like how there was lots of character growth, and yeah, it was a painful process that made me take this show a lot slower, I liked how they learned from all the painful experiences.  They all had to come to terms with something that was holding them back from progressing and being happy, and they were all able to grow through that.  None of the characters ended up where they started, really.  Characters that I thought were going to be the worst ended up being fine, or great.  I don't think I hated anyone.  That's always a plus.  I thought I was going to hate some people when they were first introduced, but then, when we saw a more well rounded side on them, we didn't hate them, and that was cool.  Like the mom (who is my bae) or the director.

By the end of the show, when all the relationships (the bromance) were back where they should be and maybe stronger than ever, I was super happy and had that cheesy grin on my face as everyone was being cute together, and I had to admit that this show wasn't half bad and that while I didn't feel like watching it a lot of the time, it was still pretty solid.  You just have to be ready for a lot of angry/sad talking and a lot of misunderstandings and mopiness.  Not my favorite things, but whatever.  That's how these characters grew, I suppose.

230. The Man Living in Our House 우리집에 사는 남자 (2016) Korean

Soo Ae, Kim Young Kwang, Lee Soo Hyuk, Jo Bo Ah, Kim Ji Hoon

Drama Rating: 6/10     Neck Score: A+

I was a little disappointed that this turned out to be more of a melodrama than a comedy.  They had made it look so funny, and sometimes it was, but then they couldn't get past the tragic loves part as they were in love but had a stepfather/daughter relationship legally.  This seems even more pathetic when everything is eventually solved with no headache and why didn't they just do that in the first place?  I did like most of the characters, although I have to like the side characters more than the main couple.  The three little dumpling ducklings, so cute.  The little sister of the 2nd male lead, hilarious.  The 2nd female lead, the most likable bitca ever.  She was thoroughly an evil man stealing jerk, but I loved her and totally shipped her with the reluctant neighborhood friend lawyer 2nd male lead.  I think I probably said "he's so flipping hot" every time Lee Soo Hyuk was on screen.  His attitude was also super fun, as he was so matter-of-fact and lazy.  I loved the developing relationship between him and his crazy stalker little sister.  I also love how the siblings names were Duk Bong and Duk Shim.  I did love Soo Ae and Kim Young Kwang too.  I liked how ridiculously their relationship grew, fighting and being "family" then finally getting to be a couple, they were just also all melodramatic at times.  really, the worst part is that everything was so dramatic, with his gangster past, and trying to protect the mother's land, and then it all gets solved so quickly.  I guess the gangster part didn't, but once the second male lead decided to not be selfish any more then everything was magically solved.  It was lamely amazing.  Why didn't they just all work together in the first place?  Huh?  Haha, so not the best, but it was still enjoyable enough, plus lots of hot men and strong women, so win?

37. Shut Up Flower Boy Band 닥치고 꽃미남 밴드 (2012) Korean

Sung Joon, L, Jung Ui Chul, Jo Bo Ah

Drama Rating: 7/10     Neck Score: A

The darkest of all the Flower Boy series.  Obviously the really hot flower boys are the band.  It's even called Eye Candy.  Also the girl is probably the least important person in this show, as opposed to the other shows which are centered on her.  This is about the band and all the trials of being high schoolers that don't fit in, first because they are poor bad boys in an underground band suddenly going to a fancy rich school when their school closes down, and then when they are scouted into an entertainment agency and have their debut, they are once again not fitting in as they are now celebrities.  It's a story about working hard, following dreams, and protecting your friends.  Also, don't get attached to Joo Byung Hee (Lee Min Ki).  I did and was heart broken when he suddenly died.  Yeah, that's right, I spoiled it.  He dies in episode 2.  But I was so confused when I thought he was the main dude and then all the classic main couple tropes started happening between the chick and Sung Joon.  He was the hottest too, but he died.  I did say it was dark.  The other worst part of the show is when they cut Sung Joon's hair.  It was so wild and great before and they ruined it.  But the OST is amazing.  I love the OST way more than the show itself (which I did like, it's just rather heavy for a Flower Boy show).  Especially these songs: Jaywalking & Wake Up.  Also Kwak Jung Wook amazes me by playing a preppy rich smart kid from the rival band at the rich school and is hilarious.  Also a 100% polar opposite from his bad boy character in School 2013.  Wow.
