262. Father is Strange 아버지가 이상해 (2017) Korean

Kim Young Chul,  Kim Hae Sook, Lee Joon,  Jung So Min, Lee Yoo Ri, Ryu Soo Young, Min Jin Woong, Lee Mi Do, Ryu Hwa Young, Ahn Hyo Seop

Drama Rating: 8/10     Neck Score: A+

I love a good 50 episode family drama, and that is exactly what this was.  So many wonderful characters that you can just grow to love, because you have all the time in the world.  I love it because you can take time to develop characters fully and let relationships build naturally.  This usually makes me way more invested in all the characters and all the relationships to the point where I'm crying and giggling at any wedding or big event near the end.  This was no exception.

The plot of this was a bit interesting, since it is focused on a family with three strong minded girls who all take after their strong minded mother, and then the one older brother who takes after the easygoing sweet father.  However there are, of course, family secrets- practically birth secrets here- when an idol turned actor shows up looking for his father who happens to be the dad of this family.  This is potentially bad because the main OTP is clearly this actor (Lee Joon) and his manager, who is the third child in the family (Jung So Min).  But they let us slowly unravel the secrets until all the crap hits the fan and it's all dramatic, and all that.

My Secret K-Biases, Ridiculous Dislikes, and People I Can't Take Seriously

I don't know why I am not completely honest with my feelings, even down to the celebrity crush level.  I guess I am just a compulsive emotional liar, especially to myself, haha.  You know when you secretly like someone but it's so secret that you don't even tell yourself?  It's not just me, right? ... Ahem.  Well, I do this all the time, and then when I finally realize it and admit it, I'm suddenly like "why did I never...?" or "I can't believe I didn't just admit this..." or "what was I thinking?"

I also have unreasonable dislikes for people.  Sometimes they are based on an impression from a drama that remains long after they are no longer playing that character, but I still can't separate them from that character, and sometimes it is because I think their face looks creepy.  I tell you, they are unreasonable and also a total joke (because I actually don't hate them as people or anything, I just like to hate on them).  I also have people that I just can't take seriously and will lovingly laugh every time I see them do anything... anything at all.

24. Save the Last Dance for Me 마지막 춤은 나와 함께 (2004) Korean

Ji Sung, Eugene, Lee Bo Young, Ryu Soo Young

Drama Rating: 3/10      Neck Score: B

This show is awful.  It's a double amnesia plot meaning he gets amnesia in a car accident where he forgets who he is, and then gets into another accident that makes him remember everything, but forget the year when he didn't know who he was.  Ji Sung is adorable when he doesn't remember who he is, but then he acts like a jerk when he can't remember Eugene, who he fell in love with during the year he was missing.  But she goes looking for him and that ugly necked other guy is just weird.  And then she becomes crippled in a car accident meant for Ji Sung.  Also, Lee Bo Young is this clingy possessive chick who goes cray cray because she's so obsessed with Ji Sung.  We know what's great about that scenario (knowing grin).  Those two are married now.  I believe this was the drama they met in, but I could be wrong.

7. My Princess 마이 프린세스 (2011) Korean

Song Seung Hun, Kim Tae Hee, Park Ye Jin, Ryu Soo Young

Drama Rating: 4/10     Neck Score: B-

Song Seung Hun is a hot, hot man.  But he can't really act.  Kim Tae Hee is pretty, but she can't really act either.  This plot is... ok.  They're trying to restore the monarchy and she's the long lost daughter of the run away prince.  Sweet.  Forcing this diplomat dude to be the one to train her... a bit of a stretch.  His English skills (as a diplomat too, mind you) even more a stretch.  Still, it's a fluffy show full of beautiful leads.  I wish I could say the same for the second leads.  They are both super ugly, as in they made them ugly on purpose so they wouldn't be more attractive than the leads.  Park Ye Jin (normally a super classy and beautiful woman) because of her dumb nasty hair and the other dude because of his face.  I just don't like him.  I thought their interference was very uncalled for and ridiculous too.  They seemed so unnecessary.  The second male lead is probably what lowered the neck score for me.  I call him Ugly Man.  I still hate him.  Seung Hun's neck is nice and muscular, but not enough to get it passed a B-.  Cheesy little drama that is ok if you want to watch mindless flirting and beautiful people.
