When discussing this, Lizabreff and I summarized that while Kdramas withhold to build the tension for the moment they get together (only to be broken up only moments later), Tdramas give you lots of moments with chemistry, sexual tension, and romantic humor, they drag the drama out with lots of ups and down. They also have the one trick I absolutely hate. The mid-series bitca. I hate having the bitca show up right as things are going great. Either have her there the whole time, or never there.

Murphy's Law of Love: Sexy Stares and Skinship From Episode One
Taiwanese dramas are great. But they are also even more tropey and formulaic than Korean dramas. They tend to lean towards the fatey things way more. They are super fluffy too, mostly. But that is exactly their charm. They are quick to the chemistry stuffs, giving us feels and awkward humor from episode one.

148. Murphy's Law of Love 莫非,這就是愛情 (2015) Taiwanese
Danson Tang, Ivelyn Lee, Jolin Chien, Jenna Wang
Drama Rating: 7/10 Neck Score: A
Slow clap for this drama. It didn't really do all that crap that most Taiwanese dramas do. In fact, it was the most consistently logical RomCom I've seen in a while. It was probably a first for me that during the break up scene I was more inclined to say: "You go, girl!" than anything else. Obviously I didn't want them to break up, but her reasons were so genuine and logical that I couldn't call her stupid, just cowardly. The worst part of the whole show has to be how lame Jolin Chien's character was. He was pointless to the point that I hated him. He was just there. He was a catalyst, not a character. He never actually did anything but help her get together with the main dude, and not in a cool way either. Anyways, Danson Tang is whew sexy. Especially his stares. Rawr. So the whole show was about the ups and downs of relationships, and there was plenty of character growth for the main couple because of it. That part was the best. It was all about personal growth as well as growth as a couple. It got a bit draggy in parts, but then made up for it with all too much sexiness and out right adorable. It actually stopped at 19 episodes rather than continuing the draggy though, so points. Ji Jia Wei (Danson Tang) is, in the cuteness factor, the best boyfriend ever. Better still because he matures and really does become the best boyfriend, so then I can say he's just all around best boyfriend material.

100. Love Myself... or You? 喜歡·一個人 (2014) Taiwanese
Puff Guo, Jasper Liu, Lene Lai, Jolin Chien
Drama Rating: 8/10 Neck Score: A
There were times that I was ready to panic, because I was too scarred by Fall in Love With Me, and I feared that this would follow in it's footsteps... but no, it did not. It was the normal ups and downs of a Taiwanese romcom. If it was ever over-the-top, it was only in lighthearted cheesiness, which is this show's M.O. But that is what made it so fun! Especially after all of the three episodes of dramatic crap, it was so fun to watch, definitely what I needed. Also every single man in this show is hot. Every. single. one. of. them. It's like you don't know where to look because they all look so good! Ah Jie's dimples! Swoon. I fell for Hao Wei, the other man, and I especially loved the Chief (head chef) and loved his side romance. So much fluffy fun! Also, I just really appreciate Puff. I think she's got a lot of talent. So yes, this one is a fluffy one, but after some Tdramas that were airing at basically the same time (cough FILWM cough cough), this one was a refreshing breeze.
